Our Project

Precisely in a situation of radical change, as it is currently described, there is a growing significance of inter- and trans-disciplinary research as well as of experiences of social actors outside the sciences. The “ForDemocracy” research association intends to make possible such an exchange, across the disciplines, between university and practical work. In cooperation of researchers from the humanities and the social sciences as well as civil society actors it shall be sounded out how society may react to the challenges connected to the legitimation crisis of democracy. For this purpose, on the one hand the research association discusses research questions which, in the respective topical context, are innovative and decisively enhance the respective discipline’s state of research. On the other hand, the thus resulting findings are supposed to be integrated in such a way as to allow for feeding them into the academic debate, into non-university practical work and into the societal discourse on the future of human co-existence.
